What it is

Botox is a neurotoxin that relaxes the specific muscles that cause expression lines, like forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet.

Every injection here is done by our physician, who has more than 15 years of experience with several different neurotoxins. That experience is the part you can’t see in a photo: knowing where not to inject matters as much as where to.

What people come in for

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines between the brows
  • Crow’s feet

How it runs here

  • It starts with your skin analysis.
  • You meet the physician who injects you. It’s not handed off.
  • The dose and placement come from how your face actually moves, not a standard chart.

Areas we treat

How much, and exactly where, is decided at your analysis.

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (the 11s)
  • Crow’s feet
  • Brow lift
  • Full face (three areas)

How Botox works

Botox is a purified form of botulinum toxin. Placed in tiny amounts into a specific muscle, it blocks the signal that tells that muscle to tighten. The muscle relaxes, so the skin over it stops creasing as deeply.

It works on lines that come from movement: the 11s between your brows when you frown, forehead lines when you raise your brows, crow's feet when you smile. It doesn't fill a line that's there when your face is completely still. That's a job for filler or a skin treatment, and we'll tell you if that's what you need instead.

Most people start to see a change within a few days, and the full effect usually shows at around two weeks. It wears off gradually, typically over three to four months, as the muscle's movement comes back.

What your visit looks like

Every plan here starts with a skin analysis and a health history, and our medical director, Viola Hysa, MD, oversees every client profile. Then our physician watches how your face moves. You'll frown, raise your brows and smile, so we can see exactly which muscles make which lines.

We talk through what you want softened and what you want to keep. Some people want their brows to stay expressive, some want the 11s gone. Dose and placement come from that conversation and from your face, not from a standard chart. The injections themselves take a few minutes, and most people describe a quick pinch.

Who should wait

We'll usually ask you to wait, or we'll plan around it, if:

  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have an infection or irritated skin where we'd inject.
  • You have a neuromuscular condition, or you've had a reaction to a neurotoxin before.
  • You have a big event in the next few days. Give it two weeks so the result has settled.

Before your appointment

  • Tell us about every medication and supplement you take. Some make bruising more likely, and we'll tell you if anything matters. Never stop a prescribed medication without asking your doctor.
  • Come with a clean face if you can. We'll cleanse the area either way.

After your appointment

  • Most people go straight back to their day.
  • Don't rub or massage the treated areas for the rest of the day.
  • Skip strenuous exercise, saunas and lying face down for the rest of the day.
  • You'll get your aftercare in writing before you leave. If anything looks uneven once the full effect shows, call us.

Questions

Who actually does the injection?

Our physician, every time. Not a technician, and not a trainee.

Will I look frozen?

Not if it's dosed for your face. The aim is fewer lines while your face still moves like yours. We'd rather start conservative and add than overdo it.

How long does Botox last?

Typically three to four months. It varies with the area, the dose and how strong your muscles are, and it fades gradually rather than all at once.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe a quick pinch. The needles are very fine, and the whole thing takes a few minutes.

Can I combine Botox with other treatments?

Often, yes, and it's common to pair it with skin treatments or filler. The order and timing matter, so your plan sets them.

Start with a skin analysis

We look at your skin before we suggest anything. Then you get a plan written for you, and you decide what happens next.

Worried you'll be sold a package? You won't. The analysis tells us what your skin needs, and sometimes that's less than you came in for.
