Microneedling in Shelby Township, MI
Fine, controlled punctures that prompt the skin to repair itself.

What it is
Microneedling makes very fine, controlled punctures in the skin with a pen of tiny needles. The skin responds by repairing itself, and part of that repair is new collagen.
Because it works through the skin's own repair, results build gradually rather than showing up the next morning.
What people come in for
- Fine lines
- Texture and enlarged pores
- Some types of acne scarring
How it runs here
- It starts with your skin analysis.
- Needle depth is set from your analysis, area by area.
How microneedling works
A pen with very fine needles makes thousands of tiny, controlled channels in the skin. The skin treats them as small injuries and repairs them, and part of that repair is new collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth.
That's why results build gradually. Many people see a fresher look within a week or so, and the deeper change in texture, pores and scarring shows over the following weeks and months as new collagen forms.
What your visit looks like
Every plan here starts with a skin analysis and a health history, and our medical director, Viola Hysa, MD, oversees every client profile. Needle depth is set area by area: shallower where the skin is thin, deeper where scarring needs it.
We numb the skin first, so most people feel pressure and a light scratch rather than pain. After the needling, a calming serum goes on, and you leave with written aftercare.
Who should wait
We'll usually ask you to wait, or we'll plan around it, if:
- You have an active acne breakout, cold sore or infection in the area.
- You've taken isotretinoin recently.
- You're pregnant.
- You tend to form keloid or raised scars, or you're sunburned. Tell us at your analysis.
Before your appointment
- Pause retinol, acids and other strong actives for a few days beforehand. We'll tell you exactly what to stop and when.
- Keep your face out of the sun, and come without makeup if you can.
After your appointment
- Expect redness, a bit like a mild sunburn, for a day or so, sometimes a little longer.
- Skip makeup for the first day, and keep to a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
- Wear sunscreen, and avoid saunas, swimming and hard workouts for a day or two.
- Hold off on retinol and acids until your skin has settled. We'll tell you when.
Questions
Is there downtime?
Expect some redness for a day or so, a bit like a mild sunburn. We'll go over aftercare with you before you leave.
How many sessions will I need?
We'll tell you after your skin analysis, not before. It depends on your skin and what you want changed, and a number quoted before anyone's looked at you is a guess.
Does microneedling hurt?
We numb the skin first, so most people feel pressure and a light scratching rather than pain. Bonier areas like the forehead can feel stronger.
Microneedling or RF microneedling?
RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat through the needles, which also targets firmness. Which one makes sense depends on your skin and your goal, and the analysis decides it.
When will I see results?
Often a fresher look within about a week. The texture and scarring changes come from new collagen, so they keep improving over the following weeks and months.
Start with a skin analysis
We look at your skin before we suggest anything. Then you get a plan written for you, and you decide what happens next.
Worried you'll be sold a package? You won't. The analysis tells us what your skin needs, and sometimes that's less than you came in for.
